The game is about the struggle between two teams - the Italian and the Russian mafia. Gameplay is similar to Counter-Strike.
Weapons have to be bought. To do that, walk up to the merchant and press "B" (by default); there's an arms dealer next to each team's spawn.
There are several game modes, depending on the selected map.
- Protect the Don. You have to protect your mafia boss; if he gets killed, your team loses. At the same time, you should try to kill the other team's don. The don is chosen at random among the players.
- Hold the Briefcase. A briefcase is hidden on the map; you earn points for finding and holding it. A player who kills an enemy carrying the briefcase also earns points.
- Survival. There are no respawns; you have to be the last one standing.
- Deathmatch. Regular DeathMatch like in Half-Life, with no teams.
Installation:
Copy the contents into the root Half-Life directory and launch the game with the following parameters
hl.exe -game gangstawarsIf you have Steam, Half-Life is usually located in C:/Steam/SteamApps/common/Half-Life or C:/Steam/SteamApps//half-life
Once you've copied the files, restart Steam and the game will appear in the list.
