Half-Life on Android

The full Half-Life on Android. You can play both singleplayer and multiplayer. You can also run mods such as Half-Life Uplink, Half-Life: Opposing Force, Half-Life: BlueShift and many mods from ModDB. Unfortunately, running Counter-Strike won't work.


Enthusiasts from hlfx.ru have long been developing a GoldSource-compatible engine called Xash3D. It can run many Half-Life mods. Besides running GoldSrc games, it performs much better: FPS on weak computers is 1.5-2 times higher.

Not long ago a port of Xash3D for Android smartphones appeared. It is being developed by a1batross and nicknekit (SDLash3D). All we actually need to do is install this Xash3D port on the smartphone and copy the game files into the right directory. After that, you can play.


Download the latest version of Xash3D from GitHub and install it: https://github.com/SDLash3D/xash3d-android-project/releases
Don't forget to allow installing apk files from unknown sources (not from the Play Market); no other installation steps are needed.


Extract the apk file from the archive and run it on your smartphone.


Xash3D is installed; now all that's left is to get the game files.

Copy the xash directory from the archive to the SD card in your smartphone.




Find Half-Life in the menu and launch it.


If you want to launch Half-Life itself, you don't need to specify anything in the arguments.


If you want to launch a Half-Life mod, for example Sven Co-op, you need to specify in the arguments:

-game svencoop

Where svencoop is the mod directory.

If you want to launch Half-Life: Opposing Force, you need to copy the gearbox directory into the xash folder on the SD card in your smartphone and specify in the arguments:

-game gearbox

If you want to play with friends, starting multiplayer is no trouble at all. You can share Wi-Fi from your smartphone (that gives you a LAN), create a server on the phone and connect from other phones that are connected to the Wi-Fi.

Launch the game and open the console.


To create a server, just type in the console

deathmatch 1
map crossfire

Don't forget to press Enter after typing each command.
The server will be created and you will join the game automatically.

To connect to a server, you also need to open the console and type

connect 95.213.175.172

95.213.175.172 is the server IP. At the time this news was published, the server is up and anyone can connect to it.
