The respawn system

If you've played against reasonably strong players (not counting monsters like Kanmiir), you've seen that after a frag they aim in advance at the spot where the killed opponent will appear and kill him the moment he spawns.

Maybe you thought it was cheating, maybe just luck. In fact, it's a pattern.
The points where players appear after death (spawns, respawns) are placed by the map's creator in a certain order, and the player respawn system is built on that order.

If you number the spawns in sequence, the player's next spawn point will be somewhere among the next five spawns. For example, if you were killed on the fifth spawn, you can appear on spawns 6, 7, 8, 9 or 10.
If there are fewer spawns left in the range, then once the maximum number is reached the count starts again from the first one, without breaking the chain. For example, if a map has 12 spawns and you were killed on the 10th, you can appear on 11, 12, 1, 2 or 3. But if your next spawn is occupied (only by a player, not by a mine or a tripmine), you will appear on the next one in the list. If all the spawns are occupied, you will appear where you were supposed to, but by appearing you will kill the player standing there.
