Bringing bunnyhopping back to Half-Life without a rollback

After the Half-Life update of 16.05.2013, bunnyhopping stopped working, or more precisely, the Bunny Hop script did. Bhop no longer works in any Half-Life 1 mod, including Adrenaline Gamer and Sven Co-op.
Until now, the only known way to get proper bhop back was rolling Half-Life back to an earlier version. But another way has been found that works on newer versions.

VALVe blocked the _special command at the engine level. But nothing stops us from changing this command and getting around the block. The command itself lives in client.dll. Take any HEX editor, for example HxD (http://mh-nexus.de/en/downloads.php?product=HxD) and change this command.

Using HxD, open client.dll from the valve/cl_dlls folder and find the special and _special commands.

Changing a single character is enough. Save. Then, in all your scripts, replace special with sp3cial.

Don't forget to remove write permissions from client.dll, otherwise Steam may overwrite it.

The new bhop script will look like this:

alias +jump2 "alias _sp3cial jump2;jump2"
alias -jump2 "alias _sp3cial"
alias jump2 "+jump;wait;-jump;wait;sp3cial"
bind "space" "+jump2"

And finally. For those who don't want to bother editing files, here's a ready-made client.dll for Half-Life with the necessary changes. For mods such as Adrenaline Gamer and Sven Co-op you'll have to make the changes yourself.
