Maps for Half-Life

Maps are game locations, everything that surrounds the player (trees, buildings and so on). Game maps are also called levels.
Playing on different levels adds variety to the gameplay. Some maps are so unique and interesting that the gameplay on them can change considerably.

A selection of what we consider interesting maps for Half-Life. Some maps are sorted into the following categories: crossfire modifications, killbox map modifications and our maps (made by our community).

AlienDM

A spacious map with stable FPS. AlienDM plays well, the weapon balance is fine: there's neither a shortage nor an excess of weapons. The design is well done, although the advertising is a bit intrusive. The map's main "gimmick" is an alien ship parked in a hangar.

The Yard 2

A modification of the_yard. There are still towers in the corners, but this time there are six of them. The map is made in a futuristic style. Performance is low because of the large open space.

The Yard

A small map with towers in the corners. The RPG sits in the center, and that's usually where the fighting breaks out. The map is great for up to 6 players; with more it turns into a meat grinder, but the gameplay still holds up. The map is made in the standard Half-Life DeathMatch style.

A simple yet good-looking map. It's small, suitable for 4-12 players. Performance is excellent; FPS doesn't drop anywhere.

YMP Complex

A medium-sized "night" map. There's a building whose roof lets you shell the surrounding area with the crossbow or toss snarks down. Crosspony

An April Fools' map from our portal. The map is a modification of crossfire in the style of the cartoon "My Little Pony". Almost all the original textures have been replaced, and a roof has been added to the buildings around the courtyard. Some crates have been removed. The weapon balance has been shifted a bit, and…

Entrance 2

Another map from our portal. 512x512 textures were used to make the map more detailed, and it hasn't lost any performance because of it: the fps is fine, and so is the wpoly. There is also a version of the map for Counter-Strike and Opposing Force.

Stalkyard 2

A modification of the standard stalkyard. The map has been heavily reworked and made more spacious; it's very reminiscent of stalkx, since there's a huge area for bunnyhopping. Well suited for the arena mode in Adrenaline Gamer.

Last Call

A modification of the standard boot_camp map. The differences from the original are huge: more than half of the map has been changed, and it only vaguely resembles boot_camp. The map's design isn't perfect, but it's quite good.
